The Ekphrastic World

I am grateful to the amazing Lorette C. Luzajic for including two of my poems in the first ever anthology from The Ekphrastic Review. The book is called "The Ekphrastic World". It is chock-full of art and words, and it's worth your time. And, it's free. Visit The Ekphrastic Review's website to download it, here.

Lorette's published several of my poems at TER over the years. It's a great project she started 5 years ago to promote the practice of ekphrastic writing. If you don't know "ekphrastic" refers to writing inspired by visual art. If you've read Keats' "Ode on a Grecian Urn", then you're already acquainted with the genre. His was just, maybe, the first ekphrastic poem. There are plenty more. More times than I can count, I've been reading a book of poetry and come across something that was clearly written about a painting or sculpture, even if the piece is not explicitly referred to by the author. TER has taken ekphrastic writing to a new, prolific level.

This post is just a way of introducing the new book and TER. Hope to post more later.
